Fall Adventures

This post is all pictures from some of my Fall riding adventures. Enjoy and thanks for reading!

Big hornet's nest I found on a road ride

Ditch full of spider webs

Ride to the former site of the Nashville Zoo, now deserted

Hole in the old zoo gate. The Nashville Zoo was just a few miles from Pleasant View when I was a kid. It moved to Nashville when the Nashville Zoo and Grassmere combined to form the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere. It closed when I was in middle school and has been a popular break-in spot for teens since. They say it is quite spooky in there with all the abandoned, overgrown buildings.

Near Port Royal State Park

A muddy, flooded Red River at Port Royal State Park near Clarksville

I ride by Port Royal all the time, but rarely stop to take in the sights. The stone column sticking up out of the water catching debris is left from a covered bridge that was built here in 1904. The bridge was washed away in a big flood  in the early 2000s. It made it about 100 years without being washed away, but since then I have seen the water that high again at least three times. Here is a picture of the bridge before it was washed away.

Flooded fields of green near the Tennessee-Kentucky state line

My old friend the tower near our first house
